Should I fear to fall tonight?
Should I fear the fall to light?
Should I wish to reach tomorrow?
Should I mourn for earthly sorrow?
I know not what lies ahead,
If today shall end alive or dead.
I know not when my heart will fail,
When my legs will limp and my face will pale.
I should not stress and worry so,
Of my last days I do not know.
For when I lastly close my eyes,
I shall walk with Jesus in the skies.
If tomorrow's tragedy rescues my soul,
Or if my aging body folds,
I shall end up on Heaven's streets,
Where death and life shall no more meet.
